Rebecca (Becky) Benson, a devout follower of Christ, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2023 surrounded by her family in Midland, Texas. Born with a heart full of love and compassion, she dedicated her life to serving others and spreading the message of God’s grace.
Becky’s unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her life. She lived by the teachings of Jesus, embodying kindness, forgiveness, and empathy towards everyone she encountered. Her gentle spirit and warm smile brought comfort to those who were hurting, and her words of wisdom provided guidance to those in need.
As a loving wife, mother, and Memommy, her family was the center of her world. Her unconditional love and unwavering support were a source of strength and inspiration to her loved ones. She cherished every moment spent with her family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, love, and faith.
In her professional journey, she earned a reputation as a dedicated educator, embracing every child with love and compassion. Whether overseeing her daycare and preschool or leading five area Head Start centers; she poured her heart into serving those in her community with unwavering commitment and care.
She dedicated countless hours to preparing, teaching, and guiding numerous Sunday school classes and vacation Bible schools. Not to mention the endless hours she selflessly devoted to ensuring that Barnhart Cowboy Church would have a heartfelt Christmas Eve service and a delightful play performed by the children year after year!
Her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a void that can only be filled with the memories of her kindheartedness, her unwavering faith, and her loving presence. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on, reminding us to cherish each day, to love unconditionally, and to walk in the footsteps of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Steve Benson; mother, Lola Jones; father, John Jones; brother, Wesley Jones; and grandmother, Leona Roe. She leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her daughter, Lisa Arrott (Zane), grandsons Matthew Arrott, Brent West (Haley), and great-grandchildren Braylee and Brooklyn. Her son, Rodney Benson (Tracy) and grandchildren Kelsey, Brody, and Avery. Her daughter, Jennifer McNew (Kevin) and grandchildren Katelynn and Kellie-Jo. Her sister, Freida Johnson (Tim) and niece Gail Wagley.
May the love she shared continue to thrive in the hearts of her family, echoing the grace and warmth she brought to their lives.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards Hospice of Midland and the staff of Midland Memorial Hospital for their loving care during her last days.
