Local Officials Take Their Oath of Office

Big Lake native Stephen Dodd was sworn in as the 112th District Attorney on Wednesday, January 1st by District Judge Pedro “Pete” Gomez, Jr. at the Reagan County Courthouse. Dodd will serve as the district attorney for Texas’ 112th District which includes Reagan, Crockett, Pecos, Sutton and Upton counties. Dodd won the position during the Republican Primary election in March over incumbent Laurie English. He ran unopposed in the general election. Dodd was one of several local officials who took their oath of office on Wednesday. Others include his wife, Michele Dodd, who was sworn in as the Reagan County Attorney; Jeff Garner, who was sworn in for another term as Reagan County Sheriff; Tommy Holt, who was sworn in for another term as Reagan County Commissioner; Destin Wilha, who was sworn in as an Investigator for the 112th District Attorney’s office; and the Reagan County Deputies.
