A life shaped by curiosity, enriched by the outdoors, and centered on family tells much of the story of Kenneth Ray Moore, a longtime resident of Big Lake, Texas.

Kenneth valued knowledge and the opportunities that came with learning. He graduated from Brady High School in 1965, enrolled at Angelo State for two years, went on to Texas A&M University and graduated, Class of 1973. He earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Science. His academic accomplishments reflected an inquisitive mind and a genuine interest in understanding the world around him.

In 1974, Kenneth began his professional career with the United States Department of Agriculture's Soil Conservation Service, where he served until 1981. He subsequently continued his career with University Lands, part of The University of Texas System, dedicating many years to his profession before retiring. His work reflected a lasting connection to the land and the natural resources of Texas.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kenneth appreciated the pleasures of a life well lived. Whether casting a fishing line, spending time hunting, or enjoying the camaraderie and friendly competition of softball, he found fulfillment in activities that brought him outdoors and connected him with others. These interests were more than pastimes; they were part of the everyday experiences that gave his life character and meaning.

Yet, among the many chapters of Kenneth’s life, none held greater significance than his family. His role as a father was a source of tremendous pride, and the relationships he shared with those closest to him remained among his greatest personal treasures.
