Cody Lee Mitchell, a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 35. He was born on April 5, 1988, in Decatur, Texas, to his loving parents, Warren Lee Mitchell and Tracy Denise Duffie.
Cody was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of everyone he met. He possessed a strong work ethic and took immense pride in his role as a Mechanic Foreman on Wind Turbines, where he displayed dedication and excellence in his craft.
Cody's vibrant and adventurous spirit made him a joy to be around. He had a knack for making life exciting, and his "wild and crazy" side was balanced by a heart of pure gold. His greatest joy in life was his children, and he was a devoted father who cherished them beyond measure. He was an avid outdoorsman and true Texan "good ole' boy," Cody found solace and excitement in nature. Camping, fishing, shooting, and riding his motorcycle were his passions, and he shared these experiences with those he held dear. Cody was also known for his culinary talents, which were legendary among his family and friends. He delighted in cooking and sharing delicious meals with loved ones.
Cody's infectious sense of humor and zest for life brightened the lives of all who knew him. His untimely departure has left a void in the world, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Cody was preceded in death by his father, Warren Mitchell, his Uncle Johnny, cousin, and best friend, Josh Mitchell. He leaves behind a legacy of love and unforgettable memories, survived by his beloved daughters, Zoey and Alli Mitchell, Breanna Morris, and his son, Max Page; and the mother of his children, Shirlena Springmeyer. Cody is also survived by his mother, Tracy Denise Duffie, and her husband, Larry, as well as his sisters, Karli Mitchell and Kasidi Pederson, and her husband, Kyle; and brother Timothy Duffie. Cody's friends, Reuben Powell, and Matt Page were his steadfast companions through life's ups and downs.
In addition to his immediate family and friends, Cody leaves behind numerous other cherished relatives and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
A burial and committal ceremony will be held at Glen Rest Cemetery in Big Lake. Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are Kyle Pederson, Karli Mitchell, Amber Hambright, Dustin Hambright, Robert Morley, Russell McKenzie, Matthew Page and Rueben Powell.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Cody's honor to a charity of your choice. Cody's legacy will continue to shine through the lives he touched, and his memory will forever bring warmth and inspiration to those who loved him.
