Ronald Warren Gore

November 9, 1944 - March 7, 2015

Born to Donald and Nerva Gore on Nov. 9, 1944, in San Angelo, Texas, Ronnie was the second of five children. He lived in San Angelo, Texas, Lubbock, Texas, and Big Lake, Texas. He was married first to Nancy Hampton in 1961. That union resulted in a daughter, Sherra Lynn Gore. In June of 1971, Ronnie was married to Suzanne Weedon and from that union came a second daughter, Jennifer Ann Gore. He was finally married to Doris Hallmark in 1990, by which he gained a ""bonus"" son, Joseph Michael Gore.

Ronnie was a veteran of the Vietnam War during which he served in the Army as a ""Black Lion"" with the 2/28th Delta Company from July 1967 to July 1968. He was a retired postman of the US Postal Service, a musician, musical instrument dealer and DJ known as Mr. Boogie to those who knew and loved him. As a musician, Ronnie played the mandolin, guitar and sang vocals for The Gore Brother's Band, Cool Water Trio and most recently Concho Grass all of which specialized in bluegrass music. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, The American Legion and was an active member of the Masonic Lodge of Big Lake, Texas. He had a passion for family, fun and music and was dearly loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don "Donnie" Gore; and brother Donald "Pard" Gore.

Ronnie is survived by wife Doris of Big Lake; daughter Sherra Condren and her husband, Monty Condren of Lubbock; daughter Jennifer "Jenni" Shipman and her husband, Michael "Mike" Shipman of Lubbock; son Joseph Gore of Big Lake; grandchildren Danielle Trout, Nicholas Trout, Ryan Trout, CJ Condren, Jesse Shipman, Justin Shipman, Gabriel Randall, Robyn Randall, Ella Gore and Eli Gore; mother Nerva Gore of Ballinger; brother Winford Gore and his wife, Liz of San Angelo; brother Jon Gore and his wife, Dana of Ballinger; brother Gary Gore and his wife, Katie of Weatherford; five great-grandchildren; eight nephews; one niece; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Ronnie's family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas. A celebration of Ronnie's life will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Big Lake, Texas, with a graveside service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in Ronnie's memory to the Concho Valley Girl's Home, a charity that was near and dear to his heart.
