Mrs. Opal Alexander, age 92, of Big Lake and formerly of Colorado City, died Sunday, February 8, 2015, in a Reagan County care center. Services will be at 10 AM Saturday, February 14, 2015 in the Kiker-Seale Chapel with her daughter, Beverly McGuire officiating and Rev. Jackie Brem assisting. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alexander was born October 5, 1922 in Colorado City, Texas to J. P. and Julia Birmingham Smith and had been a long time resident of Colorado City before moving to Big Lake. She married Clyde Alexander on October 10, 1940 in Colorado City. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2002. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Oak St Baptist Church.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Beverly and husband, Alan McGuire of Barnhart and Patsy and husband, Charles Terrell of Odessa; a sister, Vivian Beights of Colorado City; 4 grandchildren: April Terrell, Tangela Blain, Tonya Stalcup and Tiffany Kelley; 6 great grandchildren: Aaron Blain, Tara Blain, Chynna Terrell, Emerald Terrell, Courtney Kelley and Colton Stalcup; and several nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters: Hazel Smith, Velma Smith and Cecil Smith; and 4 brothers: Forrest Smith, Loyd Smith, Carroll Smith and Alvin Smith.
