Claudine Nixon Dodd

Claudine Nixon Dodd, age 95 passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, July 10, 2016 at the Texas Masonic Retirement Center in Arlington, Texas. Claudine was born on February 14, 1922 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Floyd and Jessie (Jones) Nixon.
Claudine is survived by her children, Lynn Jay Dodd of Burleson, Texas, Sammy Dodd and his wife, Angela of Big Lake, Texas, Kay Kerneck and Phyliss Evans both of Phoenix, Arizona. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, brother, Elton Nixon of Poway, California, sisters, Floy Kelly of the Woodlands, Texas, and Kay Sutton of Midland, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
Claudine was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Dodd, her parents Floyd and Jessie Nixon, daughter-in-law Susie Dodd and son-in-law Bill Evans.
Claudine was a member of the Buchanan West Baptist Church in Buchanan Dam, Texas where she and Elmer made their home after retiring. She was also a member of Eastern Star.
Claudine spent many years traveling the United States with Elmer. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and her favorite hobby was quilting. “Grannie” loved making quilts for all her grands, family members and friends.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 1:00 o’clock P.M. at the Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton, Texas. An online register may be found at www.PutnamCares.com.
