High School Students of the Month of May

Erica Munoz, daughter of Heriberto Munoz and Maria Munoz, has been named the Freshmen Student of the Month. Erica has three siblings, Abel, Yuri and Salvador. She has been raised in Big Lake her whole life. Mrs. ‘Z’s” math class is her favorite because “she is awesome.”  She is involved in many sports and enjoys riding her horse in her free time. After graduating from high school, Erica would like to become a veterinarian. 
Fernanda Munoz, daughter of Josue and Elizabeth Munoz, has been chosen as the Sophomore student of the month. She has two brothers, Luis and Josue. Fernanda has lived in Big Lake for 14 years. English with Mrs. McPhaul is her favortie class because it is her favorite subject. Fernanda is involved in tennis, U.I.L., Spanish Club, Science Club and Book Club. She was a regional qualifier in UIL Spelling and Vocabulary. In her free time she enjoys reading and writing. After high school, Fernanda would like to become certified in athletic therapy. 
Thomas Pashilk  has been named the Junior Student of the Month. He is the Godson of Stephen and Frieda Zuberbueler. He has three siblings. Thomas has lived in Big Lake for two years, he previously lived in Greenwood. His favorite class is Floral Design because he is in the process of completing a project. HIs favorite teacher is Mrs. McDermott. Thomas is involved in cross country and track. Thomas is a kind, humble, caring, loving, fun and funny person. In the future he would like to go to college and be successful. 
Summer Salgado has been selected as the Senior Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Sandra Salgado. Summer has two sisters, Zulima and Marissa. She has lived in Big Lake for four years. She previously lived in St. Louis, Michigan. Summer enjoys Ms. Masters’ AP Biology class because “it is a fun and comfortable classroom and she works hard to help us pass.” She is involved in cheerleading, Spanish Club, Spelling UIL and Ready Writing UIL. Summer enjoys working in her free time. After high school she plans to graduate from ASU with a degree in criminal justice.
