Doris Cammack

September 16, 1919 - March 24, 2016
Doris Cammack, 96, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Reagan County Care Center.  She was born in Hillsboro Texas on September 16, 1919 to Ernest and Art Elizabeth Seay.  On December 6, 1935 she married Rupert Wayne Cammack.  Their marriage was blessed with 2 children, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great grandchildren.
After spending time in south Texas, Sterling City, and San Angelo, they moved to Big Lake in August of 1967.  They immediately became faithful, active members of the Bethel Baptist Church and they served actively as long as their health would allow them.  Doris’s love of cooking made for many tasty “pot-luck” dinners at church.  She believed that good food could cure any problem.
She retired from Reagan County ISD.  Doris worked in the Middle School snack bar and cafeteria line serving lunches with love and a smile.
Many of the family’s fondest memories are of time spent around the kitchen table or piled in the family vehicle going on exciting road trips.  Doris' love of her family was exceeded only by the love she had for the Lord.  Her favorite times were those spent with and doing things for her family.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Lois Mosley, Son Ernest Wayne Cammack, and 2 grandsons Duwayne Wright and Lee Kiser.
Survivors include sister Jean Earl of Whitney, adopted daughter Rita Dell Statham of Big Lake.  Grand Children Loretta Blevins of San Angelo, Mark & Linda Wright of Coleman, Lissa & Karen Cammack of Big Lake, Rupert & JayLynn Cammack of Coleman, and Frank Dickinson of Eldorado.  Great grandchildren Sheila & Ricky Miranda of San Angelo, Noah & April Wright of Odessa, Lisa Wright of Austin.  Great-great grandchildren Chelsea Shook & Rudy Barrera of Big Lake, and Danny Wright of Odessa.  Great-great-great grandchildren Oliver and Bristol Barrera of Big Lake.  Several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.  Many friends that she thought of as family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Suldocan and the staff of the Reagan County Care Center for the loving, compassionate care given to our Memaw / Granny during the last 6 years.  We would also like to thank the Hospice of San Angelo for their excellent care.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday March 28, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church 12th& Ohio in Big Lake.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church.  Brother Buddy Helms will officiate, and burial will be in Glen Rest Cemetery in Big Lake.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Foundations, Bethel Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.
