Railroad Crossing Cement Work
Crews with Reece Albert Construction work on cement railroad crossings on Main Street in Big Lake Tuesday.
The crossings are being installed as part of the City of Big Lake’s paving project, and are intended to give residents a smoother ride between the north and south side of the tracks.
The crossing at Plaza Avenue will also be improved. The cost of the crossings is $335,855.00.
The crews also installed a cement patch on First Street behind the Stripe’s Convenient store where heavy truck traffic had damaged the roadway.
That patch cost $46,000.00 and was reimbursed to the City by Stripes.
