Braden Farms Receives Outstanding Conservation Farmer Award
Recently, the Middle Concho Soil and Water Conservation District honored Donald and Sharon Braden as this years ‘Conservation Farmer of the Year’. The Braden’s were also recognized on May the 5thin Wall, Texas as the 2015 Outstanding Conservation Farmer of the Year for Area II which includes 54 counties in West Texas. This award was sponsored by the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board and the Association of Texas Soil and Water Conservation Districts.
The love of agriculture started early for Donald and Sharon as they were both born into long time farming and ranching families. Donald started farming on his own in 1973 and five years later he and Sharon were married. Shortly after, they started farming together and over the years have built up to 7000 acres in North Reagan County where they still live today. The Braden’s farm involves numerous crop and livestock operations.
