Texas has been getting a bad wrap lately with hot topics such as police brutality and gun control being blasted by the media. In the midst of all this, though, there remains a beacon of light shining from our very own neighbors, and sometimes though the kindness of strangers.
As a single mom in my 30s, I was journeying to see my parents four hours away in the Wichita Falls area. I set out late, owing to job stress and the Murphy's Law effect that happens anytime I try to leave town at a certain time. Eight miles south of Bronte, I had a blow-out on my right front tire.
