Pioneer Natural Resources Donates Truck to Local Boy Scouts
Pioneer Natural Resources donated a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup to the Boy Scouts of America Texas Southwest Council Tuesday.
Local scouts Gunnar Stroud, Gavin Yocham, Tyler Glass, Juan Carlos Gamez and Mason Glass were on hand to accept the donation for the Boy Scouts of America.
Devin Koehler, scout executive for the council, said the truck will be used by the group to help maintain over 9,000 acres of property owned by the Scouts in this area.
"I can't tell you how huge a donation like this is for the Boy Scouts," Koehler said. "Money has been very tight for non-profits like us because of the economy, and there is no way we would be able to purchase this quality of vehicle on our own."
Koehler said the truck will be used by the Scout's park ranger based out of Camp Sol Mayer in Menard County.
