Collins, Davis Win Re-Election On City Council
Incumbents Robin Collins and Melvin Davis, Jr. were re-elected to their seats on the Big Lake City Council Saturday.
8.74 percent of the registered voters in Big Lake turned out to vote with 138 ballots cast in the election.
Davis received the most votes with 81 while Collins brought in 79 votes.
Former Council Member Cliff Miller missed being elected to the council with his 66 votes received.
A total of 60 people voted early in the election with 53 turning in ballots on election day.
Council Member Phil Pool ran unopposed for the vacant Mayor position. He received a total of 102 votes in the election.
Pool's council position will become vacant during the group's next meeting on May 17 after he is sworn in as Mayor.
The council will then decide who they will appoint to the open spot.
