Big Lake’s Oscar Sanchez, Jr., 44, was pronounced dead following a two vehicle wreck 25 miles North of Big Lake on Saturday.
Reagan County first responders received the call just before 8 a.m. about the collision on State Highway 137.
Sanchez was in a 2017 Ford F-150 driven by fellow Big Lake resident Arthur Goodloe, 55, traveling north on the highway. They were hauling a trailer with a golf cart.
The other vehicle, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, was traveling south on the roadway.
That vehicle, driven by 32-year-old Albert Denzel Barnes of McComb Mississippi, was in the wrong lane when it struck the vehicle Sanchez and Goodloe were in.
Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene by Reagan County Justice of the Peace Patty Creech.
Both Goodloe and Barnes were transported to Shannon Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries.
The wreck was worked by DPS Trooper Nancy Mata out of Ozona.
A service for Sanchez, a beloved member of the Big Lake community, is arranged for 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning at Big Lake’s First Baptist Church.
Anyone interested in helping the Sanchez family can do so by contributing to a fund set up by friends at Security Bank.
