Filing for City of Big Lake’s May election runs through February 16th.
There are three seats up for election this year.
Those seats include the Mayor position, currently held by David Melms, and two City Council At-Large positions, currently held by Cindy O’Bryan and Larry Hallmark.
As of press time, four people have filed for the election.
Mayor David Melms has filed for reelection with Frank White also filing for the mayor position.
Clemente “Clay” Gonzales and Johnny Goodloe, Sr. have filed for the council member at-large positions.
Those interested in filing for a place on the ballot can do so at City Hall (203 N Plaza Avenue).
City Hall will be open from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and from 7 a.m. to Noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
