Danny Everett Turnbow passed to his Heavenly home on August 18, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with heart disease and diabetes just 11 days shy of his 60th birthday.
Danny was born on August 29, 1954 to Russell and Lois Turnbow in Big Lake, Texas. He grew up in Barnhart where he attended school until it closed. He graduated from Reagan County High School in Big Lake in 1973. He retired from the City of Big Lake in 2002 as Wastewater Management Supervisor after 25 years of service. He married the love of his life, Sharon Reeves of Brady, Texas in 1982. They would have celebrated 32 years on September 25, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Big Lake, his son, Walter and wife, Samantha of Mertzon, Texas and his two very precious grandsons, Cash and Cody. Also, his sister, Paula Boyer and husband Danny of Irving, Texas and two nieces Shannon Miles and Sarah Hockman. He is survived by one brother, Harvey and wife, Me’lissa and two nephews Bo Turnbow of Helena, Montana and Buzzy Turnbow of Christoval, Texas. He is survived by his favorite Aunt, Katherine Black of Brenham, Texas who always called him her “Danny Boy” and Frank and Josie Goodloe, dear friends of Big Lake.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Big Lake where he attended until he became home bound. He enjoyed his hobby of being a Ham radio operator. He loved to bake and “Sugar Cookies” were his specialty.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Josh Mitchell Remembrance Association, P.O. Box 161, Big Lake, TX 76932 or to the charity of your choice. A special time of visitation with the family will be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home in San Angelo on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a private family grave side service in Brady Texas on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
Danny will be missed but we know he is in Heaven rejoicing. Thanks baby brother, husband, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, and friend for being such a blessing to everyone.
