San Angelo - Margie Faye Bird Blake, 77, of Big Lake, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, in a local hospital.
Visitation was held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 1, at First Baptist Church in Big Lake.
Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with burial following in Glen Rest Cemetery.
Mrs. Blake was born Dec. 16, 1935, in Graham, Texas to Henry Harley Byrd and Roxie Ramsey Byrd.
She married Eugene Jackson Blake Aug. 20, 1955 in Midland.
Margie was a secretary for several local businesses in Big Lake and an active member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Blake was also a member of the Garden Club, 20th Century Club, Happy Homemakers, and enjoyed many arts and crafts such as wood working, painting and quilting.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters; and a great-granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene “Gene” Blake, three sons, Randy Blake and wife Rita, all of Big Lake, Ronnie Blake of Odessa, and Gary Blake of Big Lake, one daughter, Sherry Rackley and husband Mark of Midland; two sisters, Francis Louise Goodall of Plano and Bobbie Sherry and husband Eugene of Bay City; four grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
